I don’t mind it, I don’t mind at all
If you care about me if you’re still advocating for my emotions
I don’t mind it, I don’t mind at all
If we’ll blow it all up ‘fore we get a chance to know our core feelings
I don’t wanna feel that much
I no longer miss your touch
It’s the season of our loss
It’s the lead to our freefall
Ya coming or not?
Sincerity at whatever cost
Honesty enough
Forever wanting proof that nobody
Will grant us
There won’t be more missing touch
There won’t be more craving love
The truce we already signed which attested to our loss
No no more, no no more
We don’t mind it, we don’t mind at all
If we bump into each other if we say things to each other
They won’t hurt us
We don’t mind it, we don’t mind at all
If we become strangers if we no longer cross the same door
about
Inspired by one of my favorite covers of all time, the late Amy Winehouse's To Know Him Is To Love Him, I decided to record my own take. It is indeed recorded on my iPhone, in just one take.
I Don't Mind stems from To Know Him's core message and flips it around. Its result is an angry, gut-wrenching tune which dwells on the end of a love relationship, and all things lost that are no longer valuable to either partner. It feeds on the transition from an individual narration to a shared feeling of indifference. And yes, it was also recorded in one take on a rainy June afternoon in Madrid.
